Liaise with Japanese brand clients and lead product development and selection proposals.
Job Description
1. Customer demand discovery and analysis
1.1 Engage with Japanese brand clients, wholesalers, and retail channels; capture brand positioning, style preferences, and market expansion needs through cross-cultural communication.
1.2 Research Japanese apparel retail trends regularly; analyze consumer demographics, habits, and fashion preferences; combine historical order, performance, and sales data into multi-dimensional demand reports.
1.3 Track Japanese apparel industry policies, tariff changes, and consumer trends to anticipate client needs and adjust product development direction in advance.
2. Product development and selection proposal
2.1 Build product-line plans independently based on Japanese seasonal trends (e.g., Tokyo Fashion Week, Japanese fashion media) and client brand identity.
2.2 Lead the full new-product development process, coordinating with China-based suppliers and Japanese design resources, advancing sample making and revisions to ensure quality and style alignment.
2.3 Prepare client-specific product proposals covering selection logic, cost accounting, sales forecasts, and visual merchandising; present and refine them in Japanese based on feedback.

Requirements
- JLPT N2 or above, with fluent listening, speaking, reading, and writing
- Able to independently handle business negotiations, presentations, and written correspondence with Japanese clients
- 2+ years of experience as a garment buyer or in Japan-focused apparel trade; familiar with fabric characteristics, production processes, and supply chain
- Sharp fashion sense and the ability to read Japanese apparel trends and niche styles precisely
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and other office tools; able to perform data analysis and build proposal documents independently
